We initiate projects to stimulate the use of solar cookers and expand knowledge about this type of sustainable energy. Solar cooking affects the quality of oxygen woman and children breath-in indoors.
Secondly they support the environment because it does not take wood to cook which is great news for trees.
The soil is kept intact and that helps holding water in the war against erosion.
In a class women learn how to built the oven and how to cook with it. We teach them how to support the cookers and fix small technical issues. The cookingpans must kept black, thats important for heat-absorbing.
Carpentry Los Laureles built several types of solar cookers in partnership with Solar workforce Sliedrecht, the Netherlands.
